24th All Wheaton Charity Chess Tournament

All proceeds will be donated to the Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South Chess Teams and the charity Pencils of Promise.  Help us continue the wonderful tradition of playing chess for a good cause.  Last year we had 240 players, so grab a classmate or friend and let's get to 260 players this year!

Description: An unrated scholastic chess tournament by grade level for Wheaton chess players and their schools (there are sections for non-Wheaton players too!).  Concessions will be available for purchase.

Sections: K-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-8, Non-Wheaton K-3, Non-Wheaton 4-5, Non-Wheaton 6-8

​

Team Sections: 

K-1 (Lower Primary), 2-3 (Upper Primary), 4-5 (Elementary), 6-8 (Junior High), Non-Wheaton K-3, Non-Wheaton 4-5, Non-Wheaton 6-8

Prizes: 

Participation ribbons for all players. 

10 Individual Trophies For Each Section

3 Team Trophies For Each Team Section - Top 4 players count towards team score.  Must have 2 players to qualify as a team.  No club teams.

Rounds: Doors open at 8:15am.  Round 1 begins at 9:00am.  All other rounds as soon as possible.  All players will play 5 rounds.  Time control is Game 30 with 5 second delay.

 

Registration: Entry fee is $25 if registration takes place online by 2/22.  Entry fee is $30 after 2/22.  Entries after 2/26 may receive 1/2 point bye in round 1.  No onsite entry.
